Collins Aerospace, which employs about 9,000 folks in Iowa, will lay off 68 workers in Cedar Rapids.
Based on a Workforce Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act discover, the layoffs will happen Oct. 13.
The North Carolina-based firm employs about 80,000 folks worldwide, with 9,000 of them in Iowa.
An organization spokesperson confirmed final month that Collins was planning layoffs throughout the corporate — not in a single particular division or location — totaling lower than 1 p.c of its complete workforce. One p.c of its 7,000 workers in Cedar Rapids could be 70 folks.
“Collins Aerospace is implementing actions to align its value construction with the continuing aerospace restoration,” Erin Callender, director of world media relations for Collins, mentioned final month.
Callender confirmed Thursday that the layoffs in Cedar Rapids are a part of that realignment.
