Fox Information White Home Correspondent Peter Doocy requested Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre concerning the Biden administration’s volte-face on constructing the border wall – or no less than, a small a part of it.
President Joe Biden green-lit the building of 20 miles of border wall in Starr County, Texas as a part of funding handed by Congress in 2019 in the course of the Trump administration. DOOCY: You guys do that on a regular basis. The coed loans – the coed mortgage forgiveness program – you went to court docket to combat for that. If that is such an issue – constructing 20 miles of wall – why not simply go to court docket?
JEAN-PIERRE: We went to Congress. The Congress appropriates the funding. Congress appropriates the funding. We requested them to not use that funding for that exact objective. They denied it and now we’re complying with the regulation.
