2 soldiers who died in crash on way to training area identified

SALCHA, Alaska (KTUU/Grey Information) – Two troopers have been killed and a dozen others have been injured when a transport automobile flipped over in Alaska Monday, based on the U.S. Military.

The Military has recognized the troopers as Spc. Jeremy Daniel Evans, 23, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Spc. Brian Joshua Snowden, 22, of Londell, Missouri.

Each troopers joined the military in July 2020 and arrived in Alaska early in 2021. Each have been members of the eleventh Airborne Division based mostly at Fort Wainwright.

In response to Military officers, 17 troopers have been driving in a transport automobile when it flipped over on a dust street heading into the Yukon Coaching Space.

“Sooner or later, the motive force misplaced management of the automobile and it flipped,” Military spokesperson John Pennell stated.

First responders gave preliminary medical therapy earlier than the injured troopers have been taken to the hospital.

“We’re all grieving and type of doing what we will to assist the households,” Pennell stated. “Anytime we lose our troopers, it’s a tragic occasion for the household, for the guy troopers, for the troopers’ pals. Primarily the whole eleventh Airborne Division household is grieving the lack of these two troopers and getting ready to step ahead for the households they’ve left behind.”

The reason for the crash is beneath investigation.
